Seismic network

General design criteria

On the basis of the available historical information, the area surrounding the reservoir of Collalto was regarded as of moderate seismological importance in the past. However, its seismogenic potential significantly increased by the literature appeared in the last decade.

Network outline

The Collalto Seismic Network consists of ten seismometric stations and one GNSS permanent geodetic station.

Stations description

In this section the seismic stations and their sites are described in more detail.

More details

Seismometric instrumentation

The seismological instrumentation has been bought at the end of a public selection to which the main instrument manufacturers have been invited to participate.

More details

Geodetic instrumentation

The GNSS instrumentation of the SUSE permanent station is composed by: Receiver Topcon GB-1000; Antenna Ashtech choke ring ASH701945E_M.

More details

Data transmission system

All stations of the Collalto Seismic Network are equipped with a data transmission system including a router with GPRS/EDGE interface (Siemens Er75i), which is more reliable and has less power consumption than other models tested.

More details

Acquisition system and data processing

The main acquisition system dedicated to the gas storage monitoring is installed at CRS Department.
